35lbs and 3oz sits heavy on the top of the ladder. I’m surprised that chinook hasn’t crashed through it’s rung! Todd Jennings of High Roller Cherters took the lead yesterday when he reeled in the big catch yesterday at Lighthouse Bank. The fish beat out Paul Grimstons leader of 30lbs and 4oz. Jennings is happy to have nearly a 5 pound lead, especially with only 3 full fishing days to go before the first monthly prize is claimed.
On July 1st the winners will be announced and the prize money will be rewarded within the first week of the month. The announcement will be made on Long Beach Radio as well as on the Ucluelet Salmon Ladder Derby website and facebook page.
As it looks now Todd Jennings might make away with the cash! Don’t forget that there are prizes for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place – all at amounts worth casting out for. It’s all going towards a good cause, the Thornton Creek Hatchery, and the whole community is coming alive with healthy competition. It’s been a fantastic month for sport fishing in Ucluelet!
